To make a film is easy. To make a good film is all this war. To make a great film is a miracle. You don't have nothing to do with that.

Although I liked Birdman, it didn't make me a rabid Alejandro González Iñárritu groupie. But after listening to this Feb. 17, 2015, interview with Iñárritu and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, I'm willing to admit I was beguiled by his thoughtfulness, insight and humility.

The featured quote happens around the 12-minute mark, but give the full half-hour segment a try. His perspective on art, originality, and chance-taking shows him to be an articulate filmmaker who can discuss craft in both in entertaining and involving way.
